Building Community: Serving Our Kids Foundation

One of the foundations we work closely with is Serving Our Kids. Each weekend, Serving Our Kids feeds 3,500 kids in 70 schools who would otherwise go hungry. These kids do not currently receive weekend food bags from any backpack program or other governmental programs, but still face empty plates on the weekends.

Serving Our Kids Foundation depends on the volunteer and business community to meet its mission and the ever-growing need of youth who go hungry. Volunteers play an integral role in every area of their organization. As a nonprofit organization, they depend heavily on community volunteers. With the need for their services increasing each year, their partnerships with community organizations and businesses are vital!.

We recently participated in one of their volunteer events: Bagging Assembly Thursdays. During this event, volunteers work together in an assembly line to fill bags for delivery. To learn more about other ways to get involved, click here!
